Welcome to RISE!

You are here because you are a lifelong learner!  You have tasted the sweetness of bringing other people joy, and you understand the power of education.  That's why I am here too!  Let me introduce myself.  My name is Dr. Qanita Mohiuddin.  With more than 20 years of experience as an educator in various settings, I strongly believe education should inspire the following:  Resilience, Integrity, Service, and Empathy (hence, the name of my initiative--RISE).  If we as educators find creative ways to instill a deep love for humanity in our students' hearts and minds, we will raise individuals who find fulfillment in serving God and humanity, who value integrity, show resilience despite their struggles, and are capable of having empathy for all regardless of differences.

I am a homeschooling mother of six children who are the driving force behind my efforts.  Raising resilient children who deeply care for the plight of others and constantly think of ways to better themselves and this world is the purpose behind my parenting.  I strongly believe that children are inherently geniuses, and when given the time, space, and freedom, they will RISE to the greatest heights in this world and the next! 

I received my Master's degree in Teacher Education from the University of California, Irvine. I also earned a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Alliant University with an emphasis on social justice through literary activism.  

What if we lived in a world where every individual feels a strong sense of belonging?  A world in which everyone is told that they have incredible potential and can achieve anything they want? A world where knowledge is not measured by test scores, but through actions.... Let's work together to create such a world! An educator is an activist. Let's do this!
